It never fishes well when it's chocolate brown like it is at the moment but there's pike, perch and the chance of the odd zander.

I always used to enjoy The Finger Ponds at Holme Pierrepont, nice, quiet, natural and out of the way and usually good for a fish or two with a good chance of a 10lb+ fish. (But wait until the river level drops back to normal because it's connected to The Trent and it goes up and down
with the river) Lovely place to wander around for a few hours with a lure rod.

The Trent is always good to explore, 10 mins in each likely looking spot and move along. I look for deep steady margins with reeds down the side. A few good spots to try are below Beeston Weir on the Clifton side and below the slalom course at Holme Pierrepont can be good or just explore and have a wander down and chuck in.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.
Cheers DazTrent Pikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11554198091904848907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4875127274930799643.post-18164515282333621472014-01-30T18:54:33.210+00:002014-01-30T18:54:33.210+00:00Hello Trent piker have loved reading through your ...Hello Trent piker have loved reading through your page new to pike fishing and just starting with spinning/lure fishing for both perch and pike.
